I absolutely love this app... I love typewriters & I love Tom Hanks for being apart of such a wonderful app. I have one problem though & it is that my keyboard doesnt make the typewriter sounds when I use it instead of the on screen keyboard. I realize the effect will be less for some without using the typewriter keyboard on screen but sometimes I just need the sound. 5 stars when compatible with off screen keyboards. Thank you

Ultimately the iPad keyboard is not like computer keyboards. I like this app and please generate a computer version for this!

What an awesome app! I love the typewriter look of the fonts, the ability to email and print my documents and, most especially, the typewriter sound. Unlike another reviewer, I get the typewriter sound even when using my separate keyboard. Yes, theres the occasional problem of the app crashing (nothing gets lost) and of the page sometimes not appearing above the ribbon. But when I contacted the developers, they got in touch with me right away and stayed with me while I resolved another issue. Impressive!

When I saw this app recommended in MacLife magazine I knew I had to try it out. Im somewhat "old school", and miss the skeuomorphism that has been taken away from some apps. This app certainly brings a lot of that back. Even tho youre not actually pushing keys down, the slightly delayed feedback gives that feeling. You really cant type fast in this app, which I think is the whole point. Its all about the "feel" and sounds of clunky mechanical typing. And for those of us who actually learned to type on typewriters, not keyboards, its a fun blast from the past! That said, I agree with one reviewer that it may be best to take it right back to when quotation marks were above numbers, etc. I think more than two levels of typing keys is perhaps too much. But please dont take away the Delete key!!

Great fun app, but could be more user friendly.

My daughter loves it! Cool interface!

We had been looking for a simple word processor for my daughter, when we stumbled across this app. As soon as we saw it was partially developed by THE Tom Hanks...we had to get it. Very cool typing experience and it works well. When you print off your doc. it looks just like an old letter typed on an old typewriter. It has basic functions, but some might find the in app-purchases kind of pricey. If you were looking for a cheap phone with loads of free, unsecured apps then you should cheap out and sign up for a samsung LOL!! This app is one of the good ones! Get it!!!

Its a good app but what I dont like it that you have to pay to underline, chose font, and other things.

this is a pretty good app but it wont let me write more than one document and i have too keep tap tapping in order to erase every letter!

The sounds of typing calm down my mind.

Let other languages be available, please ! Especially, I need Japanese. ( So minus one star) Still, this app makes typing itself a lot of fun. You cannot help feeling as if you were really using a typewriter as you know it. Why not download and use it right now ?

This must be a great App, which has generous touching, good old sounds to typing and smart design. But sometimes its keyboard prevents me from my writing, appearing on centre of a paper. So I extremely eager that the problem will be solved soon, for users to utilize the nice App!

Needs international keyboard setups.

why we can not change keyboard? i want to use keyboard in turkish f ordine.

It brought back my memories.Our ezama were erittin by typewriters on a yeller sheet in 90s in Turkey. With its sound and character type,you feel that you are writing with a real typewriter. Thank you atom Hanks and Apple

You have to add international keyboards. Also colors, backgrounds and papers are extra. That is too much

The only obstacle for me to be the new Kafka is an international keyboard. Great app.

Such app needs Evernote integration. Disappointing without it.

Definately needs multilingual keyboard settings. I loved the app but cant use it because i have to write in Turkish! Im waiting for a update...
