The app is great, but I’m having problems with using it on other apps. It keeps moving up until I can’t see the keyboard and what I’m writing anymore. It sucks that I can’t use it when I paid for it. Please fix this and I’ll change my rating

I love the app, but it doesnt work on other apps so well, iv bought the 99cents keyboards... Will you guys make it work??? Please take a look into it... Its to slow... But loved it!

this is a pretty good app but it wont let me write more than one document and i have too keep tap tapping in order to erase every letter!

Great aesthetic and feel but crashed two dozen times over the course of typing three pages in just a little over an hour in a single session. I use an Apple Bluetooth keyboard with an iPad Air 2, no other apps open or running in the background either, everything up to date. Sorry but I cant recommend until this glaring issue is fixed. Touch typing with a physical keyboard just beats the onscreen iPad keyboard.

Im a bit old-fashioned and love using the app for old fashioned letters to friends and family. I also use it for free writing to do simple documents that can be used as blog posts. I love the typewriter sound, and Ive pared my iPad with a Black ZAGG Bluetooth keyboard, which gives me the full QWERTY keyboard and punctuation- and still allows the Apple keyboard spelling corrections as well. It helps me keep productive and is a great addition to my writing tools.

Easily one of my favorite and frequently used apps. I use the 9.7" iPad Pro with a Bluetooth BrydgeAir Keyboard and it makes the ideas flow easily. The app keeps CRASHING, and oftentimes my keyboard wont work, so I have to close the app, and then open it back up again. If the developers can figure that out, this will be the "go to" writing app. Also, itd be great if you offered this on OS X since the MacBooks keyboard is thoroughly impressive to write with.

I love this app and it is really a lot of fun to use in pretty much all my apps but the only thing I dont like is how you cannot hold down the delete button and delete multiple letters/words but rather have to press the delete button down every time you want to delete a letter which is very frustrating. Otherwise great app!

I write. A lot. This app is cute but not at all practical for any kind of editing. It jumps around, and getting to the line you need to edit or delete is almost impossible.

Fun app though Im not sure how functional it is. More of a nostalgia app though if you really wanted to, I assume you could write some serious stuff, a la Ernest Hemingway.

I love this app! Ive used many typewriters, from the manuals I learned on in high school, to the amazing (before the advent of the P.C.) IBM Selectric at work. And, while Ive loved all my P.C.s, laptops, tablets, etc., I still miss that satisfying sound of typewriter keys hitting paper. I get that and so much more with this beautiful app, plus I can now explain to my 4 year old granddaughter, able to use a tablet since she was 2, what a typewriter is! She loves the Hanx Writer too, and learns letters, numbers and words while "playing" on it! So, "Thank You Tom Hanks", not only for the joy of watching you act so flawlessly and so believably in many, many parts (Every part youve played, in fact!) but for the fun of typing again!

Thanks for making this app. I love it. It brings back memories of typing class and writing papers and brings me to a whole other decade. Thanks so much. :)

This is simply a different set of sounds for key clicks. I dont understand why anyone would want this or pay for this. Is Tom hanks short on cash?

Same problem as lots of users: CRASH CITY. Im using a Logitech keyboard. The app works nicely for a few paragraphs, and then totally crashes. Youre taken out of the app (and out of your workflow / creative space) and back onto your iOS homescreen. You relaunch the app, and most of what youd just written is still present, but not all. You lose at least a few sentences; sometimes a full paragraph. Worst of all, youre out of your creative flow, and a bit frustrated instead. Please fix the constant crashing. And I mean constant. The crashes are very consistent. If I were a big name star like Tom Hanks, Id be proud of the beautiful interface, and the high quality sounds. But the constant crashing makes this app, frankly, less than a joy to use.

I have this thing about old manual typewriters and typewriter fonts. (I learned to type on a 12" manual portable that I carried around in a suitcase in 8th grade. The first luggable word processor after the pencil.) This is a cute imitation of the typewriters of the old days. Fun to play with. Even on the old Air, its just something to screw around on. Now the boss has passed out the Pros, until they fix it to work with the Pros and the Apple Smart Keyboard, it is just a cute, somewhat fun toy for the Air. Meanwhile, I will write documents in Courier and American Typewriter fonts.

NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO TYPE IN PORTRAIT VIEW ON IPAD! Thats insane especially for an app thats based on typing ! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Previous Review xxxxx Skeuomorphic app on iOS 7, but not iOS 6 No support for iOS 6 Apple has no more direction. They completely abandon what made them great (2.5 D skeuomorphic icons and apps since the "trash can" from 1984) and go on to copy Windows and Google with an ugly flat UI, only to promote an "editors choice" skeuomorphic app like this one. The sad part is, I like this app, but apple wont let me put it on my iOS 6 iPad, even though I purchased it. There is brilliance and simplicity in 2.5 D.

This is really a great app. I usually HATE skewmorphic design, but something about the typewriter presentation just really hits the right note for getting into the flow of writing. Theres just one problem: the app crashes about once every half a page when using a Bluetooth keyboard. Its a real shame, but I cant recommend this app even a little bit. It shouldnt be marked with an "Editors Choice" badge; it shouldnt even be on the AppStore until this is fixed.

I absolutely love this app! It works great and is so easy to use. I have written several episodes for a web series using it and am now working on my next book with this app. I cant wait to see the final results. I recommend this app to any writer. It does not matter if you are inexperienced or experienced, I know you will love this app just like I do. Thanks Hanx.

I love typing on the Hanx Writter app. I love typing on the eggs brighter. When I am at coffee shops everyone has to find out what Im doing. It definitely gives you great feedback as you type your next blog post.
